Take what i can get

Well, here we go. I ended my previous blog with “hopefully I will write the next blog from my new room in Almada” .. Guess what! =)

Yes! I have a new room.

Yes! I have a new job at a great company.
Yes! I did it again.

I really have nothing to complain about, everything is going sooo well!

I don't know if I shouldn't say this too loudly and knock on wood ... or if I should shout it from the rooftops! Haha guys I am so happy here.

I am now..? Let me look back in my calendar, I see that I moved to this nice room on Saturday, August 15 and that I started my training at Marley Spoon on September 28. Marley Spoon is a German company and is growing very fast all over the world,

We .. we! Haha yes, I already feel part of Marley Spoon .. It is now available in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, Denmark and Sweden as far as the EU is concerned, we are also in Australia and Central America from Cali to New York! And so yes again i have fun with all the languages around me. I really enjoy working in such a multicultural company and experiencing how this all goes behind the scenes, in terms of organization and planning and the growth of such a great company. I do feel like a rookie again, again completely insecure and exciting to do something you don't know, where you have no answers but a lot of questions. Anyway, I have also become very flexible about this in the meantime, I am not afraid to ask and I have a super sweet, helpful team around me where nobody looks strange at me if I ask something, That is very motivating and makes me feel very welcome. I am happy with this new job. What exactly am I doing? Have a nice chat and email with Dutch and Belgian customers, if something goes wrong with their box or delivery or if they have any questions about ingredients, recipes, or the subscription, they will come into contact with the Dutch team and we will help them further. (see link in yellow to the website : P)

My office is at home, so I changed my bedroom and placed a cozy round table in the center, and pushed my bed into a corner. Nice green plants around me, a cool green fabric/poster of palm trees on the wall, a cozy rug, and everything nicely dressed, I am completely fine here. And I can speak of luck again with my roommates here, we live with 4 girls in total and share the kitchen/dining area and bathroom, which is actually very good, we are all clean and think about each other where necessary. We have our own thing and eat in the kitchen, where everyone walks in and out when we looking for a chat or company. It feels relaxed and cozy.

Now that I work at home, I notice that I really have to kick myself out of the house, so i will not sit at home day in day out. that broke my energy for the first 2 weeks. You give energy but don't feel it back. The computer screen for work and NetFlix screen to relax isn't healthy! I have different shifts or i am the evening off or the morning, where I obligate myself to take a walk in my neighborhood haha I discover all kinds of nice shops and bars that I should put on a list, no I’m thinking of this.. it’s to have a coffee or lunch or drink, I don't really know the neighborhood yet, but that will come naturally. Walking is very nice here, I have just discovered a large park where everyone is exercising and running, not a bad idea .. I do sports sooo little, well I do something, but compared to my boot camps in Amsterdam and cycling kilometers I did move there every week and i look really lazy now haha. What I do here is mainly walking and surfing, and when I go surfing I always have my beachball set and a football! So yes on the weekend I do enough exercise, I can still be found on the beach every weekend, especially now! I only live fifteen minutes away from the beach! and then there is my regular surf spot where a nice couple always rented me a board and wetsuit for a nice price of 15.- for the whole day if I want to book a lesson I can join on Saturday and Sunday with a beginners club to wash away my insecurities. But I have to say! I have not felt my fear of water in ages! I now have a lot of fun on the board and can already sense which wave I should catch.. and that I glide maybe 5 out of 10 times while standing on my board!! (with baby waves don't get me wrong haha) but really SOOmuch fun! Last week I took a lesson again and immediately made new friends with whom I spent the rest of the day, after an intensive lesson, we got a nice lunch and kept the board for the rest of the day, In the afternoon again in the water and go crazy on the beach and play football in between, Love it. Created a group together to indicate every weekend whether we are somewhere on the beach so that we can easily join and practice together and keep an eye on each other. It remains a rough, unpredictable sea!

And I finally got in touch with the Real Locals! Haha via via I immerse myself more and more among the locals, I make friends everywhere and then meet their friends and before you know it I have lovely, friendly people around me every weekend, with whom I love to share my free time with, ..very crazy.. But everyone loves the sun, beach, a drink, good food!?! How difficult is it to enjoy when everything is around me nonstop .. I am so comfortable and myself (again) here one big smile while writing this blog.

And then I almost forget something! I made a fantastic roadtrip in between jobs, I had 10 days of vacation and I used it very well, first ONEWAY to Algarve to my sweet friend Michelle, I had missed her a lot and she could use some fun and support with renovating her new Casa! Very nice to be there again and to be able to chat with her and to have fun on the road together. You're doing so well Mich, it's gonna be a lovely house for you, I'm 100% sure. In the meantime, quite coincidentally, being able to join Andreia's birthday with a super nice lunch together with Rafa, Zé, and her super sweet, wonderfully crazy family, one Amazing day! That started in the morning with coffee and beer moved on to a big Bday lunch and lots of wine, cocktails, and even with shots we ended in the evening in the best bar in Alvor. I did not want to miss all this! So nice that I can always visit my dear friends there. Love you guys!

Then I went on a road trip on my own with my Dutchie-car, all the beautiful places in a row .. with 3 nights sleeping on the way in the nicest hostels with nice people around me (#neveralone) and on the way hopping from beach to village to beach:
